Why We Serve

Bob McIntosh, PhD  President
EWS Business Faculty, Evergreen State College

As a teacher of veterans and business students I know the power of mentoring and giving back to the community. The Veterans Family Fund is that mentor that allows all of us to help and a pathway for banks and businesses to partner with an organization that delivers positive outcomes.

Kathy Hobbs, Executive Director & Vice President
Retired U.S. Navy

Perry White, Secretary

Dustin Alger, Treasurer

Kyle Nieves, Director of Administration

Scott Kintz, Director of Information Tech.

David Peoples, Administration Director

John E. Lee
Director, Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs

I came home from war to a country that wanted to forget, so I know how important it is for us to stop and say thank you to each and every veteran and their families. What is exciting to me is that the Veterans Family Fund gives us all a way to say thanks and make a difference.

Doug Kotrba
Veteran

As a Vietnam Veteran, I have always regarded as shameful the treatment our veterans received when they returned from overseas duty. So many just needed a 'Thank you for serving' or a hand up to get over a rough spot. Government programs can never be comprehensive enough to cover all of the contingencies our service members encounter. The VFFA can be the emergency reaction force to smooth over the rough spots for the veteran and his family. This is one way I can help those veterans less fortunate than I on a 24/7 basis.
